Pressure swing adsorption (PSA) is a new gas separation technology, its principle is to use molecular sieve gas molecules of different "absorption" performance differences separate the gas mixture. It is based on the air as raw material, using a high-performance, high-selected solid adsorbent selective for nitrogen and oxygen adsorption properties of the air nitrogen and oxygen separation. Carbon molecular sieve separation on the role of nitrogen and oxygen is mainly based on the two gas diffusion in carbon molecular sieve surface at different rates, the smaller diameter of the gas (oxygen) diffusion faster, more solid molecular sieve. This gas can be nitrogen in the enriched composition. After a period of time, the molecular sieve adsorption of oxygen balance, according to carbon molecular sieve adsorption at different pressures of gas adsorption on the different characteristics, reducing pressure to lift the carbon molecular sieve adsorption of oxygen, a process called regeneration. PSA is commonly used in parallel the two towers, alternating pressure adsorption and regeneration extract to obtain a continuous nitrogen flow.
